Wise Guide is a 1927 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.
Plot[]
Felix, assuming a clever disguise to outdo the "smart guys" in the eyes of his beloved, wins a swimming race by riding on the dorsal fin of a fish. To put on a sideshow for the freaks, Felix deflates the fat man and inflates the skeleton to three times its size. But he soon returns to normal.
A silhouette cutter makes a replica of Felix. He looks so much like the black cat that he begins to court the black cat's girlfriend. But Felix chases him through the carnival grounds. The two fall on top of a tightrope walker, cutting the man in two. Finally, Felix isolates the carved likeness of himself among the waiting fireworks, and a lit fuse brings the silhouette to life.
Finally, faced with an endless rivalry, Felix forces his lady to choose between him and his shadow. After a brief mental debate, the beauty tears apart the scissor-made effigy and rests in her Felix's arms.
