Felix The Cat Wiki

The Smoke Scream is a 1928 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.

Plot[]

Felix tries to help the man of the house who is forbidden by his wife to smoke inside the house. The old man's sideburns catch fire, and he runs out of the house and down the street. He tries to take refuge in an apartment building. This makes the tenants believe that the apartment is on fire.

Felix is unable to alert the fire department, so he grabs the equipment and starts putting out the fire. The cat saves many of the panicked tenants by using a water jet as a fire escape. He has some trouble with a fat lady, as she falls on a spring and goes back into the house.

Felix puts out the fire on the old man's sideburns by dunking him in a lake, and the fire immediately attacks Felix's tail. Felix is last seen running down the road, fuming furiously behind him.
