Sax Appeal is a 1927 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.

Plot[]

Felix intent on getting his regular sleep, is annoyed by a saxaphone in the hands of his boss, who has just received it as an inheritance. The sax playing brings joy to many inanimate objects but continues to irritate the black cat. He uses many efforts to silence the sax. He has a little peace for a moment by going into a distant room, but here the radio starts broadcasting.

The radio music is supplied by a pair of jazz saxaphone players. Felix bears this combination just so long and then throws a boot at the radio machine. The instrument receives it and the two sax players are kicked into silence by the broadcast boot. Felix is dozing off again when the master resumes his playing. He kidnaps the annoying instrument and buries it. Then he proceeds to nap at ease.

However, a burrowing mole encounters the mouthpiece of the instrument underground. The resulting musical notes sprout and come out of the earth to further aggravate the cat. Felix gives chase, shoots at the notes and finally drowns them - and then sleep is within easy reach.
