Felix The Cat Wiki

Polly-tics is a 1928 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.

Plot[]

Felix is looking for rations when he sees two bottles of milk leaning against a doorstep. He manages to defeat four mice in a battle for possession of the milk, but is discovered by the owner. The owner thinks that Felix was fighting to keep the milk from being stolen by the mice and adopts the black cat. Felix is overjoyed to have a real home.

The black cat makes himself at home, first by bullying the coat rack, drinking in the atmosphere of the goldfish, using the pet dog as a feather duster and finally by smothering the parrot. Naturally, the master's older pets resent this intrusion by a stranger.

The parrots hold a meeting of indignation, starting an old-fashioned political conversation with Felix's other victims. With the help of the canary, the parrot ties one end of the rope to the cat's tail and the other to the town clock. This drags Felix out of his cozy home. Once again victimized, Felix returns in a rage, and though confronted by a synthetic ghost made by the other pets, the black cat conquers his enemies using a hose and a steady stream of water. Thus, the parrot is happy to accept Felix's peace offering, and the cat and Polly shake hands.
