Oceantics is a 1930 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.
Plot[]
The short film begins with Felix walking along, whistling a tune. He comes across a monkey playing the harmonica, who is rewarded with a shower of coins after his performance. Felix then finds a billboard advertising a pianola. Attracted by the music, he notices a market across the street, with appetizing Swiss cheese on display.
Slyly, Felix finds a back door of a nearby house and uses it as a platform to reach the cheese in the market window. He then cuts the cheese into a sheet of sheet music and places it on the billboard pianola. As the music plays, Felix dances happily, even involving the clothes of a nearby Chinese laundry. The owner of the laundry, irritated by the mess, chases Felix, who escapes and boards a ship about to set sail.
On the ship, Felix finds a goat drinking soup. He then entertains the sailors with his dance, but the fun is interrupted when an anchor begins to swing, and Felix, by misfortune, ends up swinging along with it. He then climbs the mast and plays the ropes like a harp, but the jealous goat cuts the mast.
The chase continues through the ship's portholes, with Felix using his wits to dodge the goat. After a series of maneuvers, Felix is thrown overboard. As he falls to the ground, two birds in imaginary clouds sing happily above his head. Felix captures the birds and sells them at a pet store, receiving a cash reward. The short ends with Felix walking again, whistling his melody, just like at the beginning.
