Felix the Cat is a 2023 American graphic novel based on Felix the Cat franchise especially the Joe Oriolo incarnation. It was written by Mike Federali and Bob Frantz and illustrated by Tracy Yardley (best known for his work on Sonic the Hedgehog comics). It was released on November 7, 2023. [1]
Originally the comic novel was planned to be released in 2022 and published by Source Point Press[2], but was delayed due to Source Point Press no longer publishing the books. [3] On November 15, 2022, Rocketship announced through its new imprint Bottlerocket, that the comic would release in the spring of 2023, [4] but the release date switched to Fall of 2023 which was finally released on November 7, 2023.
Summary[]
Felix must face the new menace XILEF who has appeared from another dimension. He also must defeat all his classic enemies, The Professor, Rock Bottom, and Master Cylinder, or hand over his Magic Bag O' Tricks forever! During these new challenges, Felix meets new friends that will forever change the Felix universe.
Trivia[]
- It's the first new Felix the Cat content to be made since Felix the Cat Saves Christmas and the first to not feature involvement of Don Oriolo who had sold the rights to the franchise to DreamWorks Animation.
- Poindexter doesn't appear in the graphic novel due to Don Oriolo still owning the rights to the character.
