Felix The Cat Wiki

Felix In Fairyland is a 1923 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.

Plot[]

At the beginning of the short film, Felix is seen absorbed in a book of fairy tales, while holding a box with mysterious contents. His fascination with the stories leads him to wish to visit "Fairyland", a place he imagines to be magical.

The narrative takes a surreal turn when Felix hears a cry for help and finds a fly trapped in a flyswatter. The fly, revealing itself to be a fairy with magical powers, grants Felix a wish in gratitude for his kindness. After a moment of disbelief and hesitation, Felix expresses his wish to be in Fairyland, and is instantly transported there.

He meets Little Miss Muffett, battles a spider that transforms into a flying witch, and meets an old lady who lives in a shoe with countless children. Felix then decides to take over the castle of an ogre, who transforms into a lion, triggering a chase.

To throw the ogre off the scent, Felix alters a tour sign, confusing his pursuer. He then finds a shop selling magic beans, one of which grows to the sky. The ogre, realizing his mistake, follows Felix to the top of the beanstalk. Felix then challenges the ogre to turn into a mouse. When the ogre accepts the challenge, Felix defeats him with a question mark.

At the end, Felix invites the old lady and her children to occupy the ogre's castle, and the short film ends with Felix laughing, celebrating his victory.
