Felix The Cat Wiki

Felix Busts a Bubble is a 1926 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.

Plot[]

Felix finds that the movie aspirations of his mistress seriously interfere with the regularity of his meals. Consequently, when she leaves for Hollywood, he resolves to bust the bubble of her hopes of becoming a motion picture actress. Unable to get on the same train with her, Felix coaxes a mule to kick him to his movie destination.

In Hollywood, Felix watches his feminine boss go through a screen test and manages to interfere in her endeavor by using a distorting lens. He realizes that if his mistress passes the screen test, he may lose his happy home and at least will get his meals irregularly. Consequently he adds to his mischief in the projection room, so that in addition to the distorted pictures of his lady boss, several scenes are reversed. This gives an entirely different effect from that planned. The result is that his mistress is eliminated from the list of coming cinema stars.

Back home again, Felix alleviates his mistress' regrets with the consolation of a happy home.
