Felix The Cat Wiki

Eskimotive is a 1928 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.

Plot[]

Playing with his nephew Inky, Felix begins blowing soap bubbles. One of them, with Inky inside, rises into the sky and takes the kitten to the polar regions with Uncle Felix in hot pursuit. The bubble freezes, and when Felix arrives, his kitten is held captive inside the frozen bubble until Felix cuts it in two and uses half of it as a sled to slide across the snow until the northern lights are short-circuited.

Facing six months of darkness, Felix begins blowing bubbles and placing a light inside each bubble. He blows them in all directions so that they form a large illuminated path in the Land of the Eskimos. These lights irritate a bear, and it chases Felix. By blowing a protective bubble around himself, Felix manages to ward off the bear's attack. Angered, the bear pushes the frozen ball into the ocean.

At the bottom of the sea, a seal catches it. Another seal is irritated by the strange visitor and calls an eel for help. This eel makes a hole in the bubble and the seal and his relatives come in to beat Felix up. But the black cat escapes and drags away his frozen bubble full of seals. He sells these seals to a furrier. Laden with money, Felix suddenly remembers his abandoned nephew. He whistles for the kitten and Inky, who comes running home.
