Felix The Cat Wiki

"Loco"Motive is a 1927 Felix the Cat short produced by Pat Sullivan.

Plot[]

Felix, hungry as usual, finds the generous response to a pitiful puppy's plea and inspiration in it for his quest for generosity. Mimicking the tiny dog, the black cat unfortunately finds people more interested in aviation than cats, as they are always looking up at the sky instead of down. He meets a well-fed German and decides that a flight to Germany wouldn't be a bad idea. He stuffs a hot dog and uses a basket to complete his craft.

Felix is sailing over the water when the smoke from a steamer covers him with soot. A spouting whale, however, washes him away. A giant bird cuts off his propeller. Consequently, he is overjoyed when he sees Ireland. Felix takes a clover from his anchor and replaces it with the missing propeller. He is enveloped in fog and decides that London must be below.

The Eiffel Tower eludes him, and below he sees the airfield near Paris. But Felix continues on his way and crashes into the Leaning Tower of Pisa, righting it. He sails over a Chinese man's yard and is told the right way to get to Berlin. There he finds thousands of people in the field waiting for him. Felix is showered with medals and flowers when he lands and is completely overwhelmed by the gigantic reception.
